About The Exam

Staff Selection Commission will hold Combined Graduate Level Examination for filling up of various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc. The details of the examination are as follows: Age limit: 18-32 based on the post requirement Essential Educational Qualifications;

  1. Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; Or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
  2. Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.
  3. Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):

 Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute. Desirable Qualifications: 

  1. Minimum one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
  2. Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.

All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the cut-off date Scheme of the Examination: The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers as indicated below:

  1. Tier-I: Tier-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension.
  2. Tier-II: Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I & Paper-II in separate shift(s)/ day(s).

Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts. Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts. Paper-I will include following three sections having two modules each: Section-I:

  • Module-I: Mathematical Abilities
  • Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence

Section-II:

  • Module-I: English Language and Comprehension
  • Module-II: General Awareness

Section-III:

  • Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test
  • Module-II: Data Entry Speed Test
