IBPS CSA 2026 Notification: Eligibility, Exam Dates, Pattern, Fees & More
The IBPS CSA 2026 Notification has been released for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP CSA-XVI) for recruitment of Customer Service Associates (CSA) in participating Public Sector Banks. The recruitment is for vacancies for the 2027–28 period. The online examination will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) through Preliminary and Main examinations.

IBPS CSA 2026 Notification: Important Dates

What is IBPS CSA Recruitment?
IBPS conducts the Common Recruitment Process for recruitment to the Customer Service Associate (CSA) post in participating Public Sector Banks. The post is part of the clerical cadre.
The participating banks listed in the notification include Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank and Union Bank of India.
Recruitment is conducted on a State/UT-wise basis, and candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT. The examination centre is generally selected within the State/UT applied for, although IBPS may allot a centre outside that State/UT depending on administrative feasibility and other factor
IBPS CSA 2026 Notification Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
As on 1 August 2026, candidates must be:
- Minimum age: 20 years
- Maximum age: 28 years
Candidates must have been born between 2 August 1998 and 1 August 2006, both dates inclusive.
The notification also provides upper-age relaxation for eligible categories. For example, the relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Other specified relaxations are provided for eligible ex-servicemen and certain women candidates
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
The candidate must possess the required mark sheet or degree certificate showing that they are a graduate on the date of registration. Candidates are also required to indicate their graduation percentage while applying online.
Local Language Requirement
Candidates applying for a particular State/UT must be proficient in the specified or opted local language of that State/UT. Proficiency includes reading, writing, speaking and understanding the applicable language.
For example, the notification lists Telugu/Urdu as specified local languages for Telangana, while the test medium options for Telangana include English, Hindi, Telugu and Urdu.
Computer Literacy
Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory. Candidates should possess a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in computer operations/language, or should have studied Computer/Information Technology as a subject in High School, College or Institute.
IBPS CSA Notification 2026 Application Fees
The application fee and intimation charges are payable online between 1 August and 21 August 2026.
- SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/DESM: ₹175, inclusive of GST
- All other candidates: ₹850, inclusive of GST
Applicable bank transaction charges for online payment have to be borne by the candidate.
Candidates should complete their applications well before the last date rather than waiting until the final day
IBPS CSA 2026 Exam Pattern
The selection process includes an Online Preliminary Examination followed by the Online Main Examination.
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination consists of three separately timed sections:

Candidates must qualify in each of the three tests by securing the cut-off marks decided by IBPS. Shortlisted candidates will then be considered for the Main Examination.
Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of four separately timed sections:

The IBPS CSA 2026 Notification states that the structure of the examination may be changed and any such change will be communicated through the official IBPS website.
Negative Marking
There is a penalty for wrong answers in both the Preliminary and Main examinations. For every incorrect answer, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No penalty is applied when a question is left unanswered.
This makes accuracy an important part of IBPS CSA preparation. Candidates should focus not only on attempting questions quickly but also on avoiding unnecessary guesses.
Salary and Pay Scale
The notification specifies the Customer Service Associate basic pay scale as:
₹24,050 – ₹64,480
The detailed scale is ₹24,050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The CSA is also eligible for allowances and perquisites according to the rules of the participating bank in force from time to time.
Local Language Proficiency Test
The notification includes a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) requirement for applicable candidates. The relevant local languages are specified State/UT-wise in the notification.
Candidates applying for Telangana, for example, should take note of the specified local languages listed as Telugu/Urdu.
Therefore, candidates should carefully select their State/UT and language options while completing the application.
How to Prepare for IBPS CSA 2026
With the Preliminary Examination tentatively scheduled for October 2026, candidates should begin structured preparation well in advance.
A good preparation strategy should include:
1.Strengthen the basics:
Build strong fundamentals in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning before moving to advanced questions.
2.Practise with sectional tests:
Since the Preliminary Examination is separately timed, candidates should develop the ability to manage each section within its prescribed time.
3.Focus on accuracy:
The 0.25 negative marking makes accuracy essential
4. Prepare for the Main Examination early:
Candidates should not wait until the Preliminary result to begin Main Examination preparation. General/Financial Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and General English require consistent preparation.
5. Take regular mock tests:
Mock tests can help candidates identify weak areas, improve time management and become familiar with the online examination environment.
